Hi I’m Quillon Tsang, an Industrial Designer working in the San Francisco Bay Area.

I am a solutions driven designer who specializes in crafting ideas and needs into real products.

For the past decade, I have been designing and developing award winning toys in multiple categories. Throughout my career, I worked as an in-house designer both for manufacturers and consultancies. My work is used to drive new product development from concept through production while supporting new business development, marketing and sales. Dash Robotics was a product development studio specializing in smart devices and robotics for leading companies in the toy industry. My role was to design these technologies into toys and kits

Product Designer - Klutz Inc (Scholastic Inc), Palo Alto, California

 

June 2011 - October 2014

​

Klutz, division of Scholastic, develops and manufactures premium brand of book-based activity kits committed to inspiring creativity in every kid. My role was to initiate new kit concepts, prototype design and develop materials and provide technical, editorial and art assets for production.

Contract Designer & Illustrator- One Sun Solar Inc, Sausalito, Ca

 

June 2010 - January 2011

​

One Sun Solar developed a unique proprietary plant based photo-voltaic technology and were discovering innovative applications for commercial and emerging world markets. I collaborated with engineers to conceptualize and visually communicate new solar panel racking systems centered on using recycled plastics. I create visual assets business presentations and grant applications.

Diggin Active manufactures toys in the kid sports and active gear category. I Illustrated concept boards of new toy ideas. Designed and fabricated prototypes of new toy concepts Created product spec documents used for sourcing, pricing and patent filing.

big BOING, LLC was both a toy manufacturer and consultancy that specialized in brand strategy, new innovation and product development. big BOING has licensed intellectual properties, launched companies, products and consumer brands in the children consumer goods industry. My role was to perform all tasks related to product design & development.

Industrial Designer - Vantec Inc, Fremont, California

Vantec Thermal Technologies is a leading manufacturer of computer accessories that provides a complete line of aftermarket storage, thermal, and mobile solutions. I designed computer cases, fans, thermal controllers, lights, and external hard drive cases.

​

Industrial Designer - Alpha Vision Tech LLC, Berkeley, California

 

October 1999 - March 2002

​

Alpha Vision Tech manufactured a line of external video conferencing cameras. I designed and implemented the design language for their line of webcams, hand-held PC digital cameras, and the retail packaging structures.
